Love is in the Air

Love Is In The Air

Well, the holiday’s are over and the 2016 New Year has arrived. If you’re single, separated, married of divorced, everywhere you look around, every sight and every sound is Valentine’s Day. It’s close and it comes faithfully every year. Soon after New Year’s Day, the shelves are stocked with commercial chocolate candies, flowers with red and pink hearts. One thing is for certain, somewhere, somehow, love is in the air.

Depending on where you are in life, there is someone you hold dear. There is someone that brings out the best or worst of you, or both. The hope of this glorious new year is the promise of new beginnings and opportunities. The possibilities with the one you love, meeting new people and experiencing your purpose.

Commercially, the world solicits love on one day a year, but truthfully love is experienced, shared and even challenged every day.

Take a look at 1 Corinthians 13:4-8... or listen here

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love is defined differently for most people. The Bible’s definition is clear in 1 Corinthians 13.  Here is a tip to see if that special someone you hold dear passes the love test.  Replace their name with the word love in the scripture and see if they pass.  Then, replace it with your name. Tom Jones sings “and I don’t know if I’m being foolish, I don’t know if I’m being wise, but it’s something that I must believe in”. Without God, and believing in His Love, our love can be a tricky thing. Love can also be a two-way street.  Instead of being someone’s Valentine or crush this year, let’s try to seek out and live a life of true love.
